Under the expertise of Dr. Pelletier, York Family Eyecare provides comprehensive medical support for our patients that need it.

It starts with best-in-class early detection

We are committed to the needs of our medical patients. We prove this every day by providing unique best-in-class early detection using the latest testing equipment. We are proud to employ technologies not found elsewhere on the Seacoast for identification and treatment of glaucoma and macular degeneration. These technologies can make the difference for achieving positive outcomes.

Dr. Pelletier is very experienced and skilled at finding and diagnosing ocular conditions requiring immediate attention and/or ongoing treatment, including eye disease. For complex medical issues, he collaborates with local ophthalmologic specialists to make appropriate referrals, while continuing to act as the patient’s primary-care eye doctor for important continuity of care.

Whether you have an existing diagnosis that affects your eyes, suspect an underlying condition, or are at high risk for developing eye disease, you’ll be in very good hands while in Dr. P.’s thorough, cutting-edge care.

Here are a few of the common eye conditions that Dr. Pelletier diagnoses, follows and/or manages:

  • Infections
  • Dry eye
  • Allergies
  • Glaucoma
  • Macular degeneration
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Retinal changes

Dr. Pelletier also provides important ongoing support for patients with systemic conditions that can affect the eyes, such as:

Dr. Pelletier provides outstanding support for patients considering and/or undergoing eye surgery, especially for LASIK and cataracts:

  • Pre-operative evaluations
  • Pre-operative care
  • Post-operative care

Because he does not perform these procedures himself, you are guaranteed to receive an unbiased medical opinion—which can be difficult to find—from Dr. Pelletier. His pre-operative evaluations are also extremely thorough. He is committed to helping his patients understand the pros and cons and realities of surgical outcomes. Needless to say, Dr. P. is also a great resource for those seeking valuable second opinions, which are so important when making big medical decisions.

For example, Dr. Pelletier provides LASIK candidates with contact lens trials to simulate the effects of the surgery beforehand—something that ophthalmologists do not do. (Interestingly, some patients have opted against LASIK once they do Dr. P.’s pre-op trial simulation.) Those that say “yes” to the surgery after such trials will be much better prepared, and feel more confident, about what to expect during and after surgery.

Dr. Pelletier believes that every patient deserves this level of understanding before undergoing eye surgery, and we think you’ll agree that is genuine patient-focused care.
